Citroen Traction Avant 11CV, a milestone in French automotive history - 1.9 L inline four-cylinder gasoline engine with 41 kW (56 hp) and 3-speed manual transmission - First registered in June 1954 - Owned since 1989 - Odometer reading: 85,400 km - Long two-tone body, repainted in 2014, with 6 side windows, windshield opening at the bottom - Whitewall tires, additional instruments for engine oil pressure and coolant temperature - The interior and upholstery have been left in their original condition - Maintenance and repair work from 1989 onwards, documented by original invoices - German registration documents. See and write for yourself and try it out (advertising copy dated August 12, 1934) Development of the Traction Avant began in 1933. André Citroen wanted a vehicle with the very latest advances available at the time. A vehicle that would be fast, economical, and safe. Engineer André Lefébvre, winner of the 1928 Monte Carlo Rally, and designer Flaminio Bertone did a great job. The monocoque construction, a front-mounted engine with front-wheel drive, a very low chassis design with the wheels far out at the corners and independently suspended front wheels, made the car relatively light (less than 1,000 kg). The interior was spacious and easy to use thanks to an almost flat floor and plenty of space between the axles. The handling was excellent thanks to the independent suspension and low center of gravity. It was presented to the press and a select number of dealers in April 1934. The models available were: Berline (sedan), Faux-Cabriolet (coupe), and Roadster (convertible). Production of all Tractions ceased in early 1941. After the war, production resumed in 1946/1947. From spring 1948 to 1953, all vehicles were painted black and the rims were painted "ivory" (ivory) for cost reasons. From September 1953, Citroën resumed production of the Familiale Commerciale models of the Type 11. Production of the Traction Avant ended in July 1957. The last vehicle was an 11B with chassis number 444 569. This vehicle is a vintage car that is many years old and shows some noticeable signs of use and wear. Furthermore, it may have undergone more or less professional restoration, modification, and paintwork, and may have a number of cosmetic and technical defects.
