Very nice 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet with matching numbers - 250 hp from a 3.6-liter boxer engine with a 5-speed manual transmission - Original Porsche radio with CD - Electric windows, mirrors, and seats, onboard computer, cruise control, electric convertible top - Air conditioning and tinted glass - Electric extendable rear spoiler - Exterior paint in Grand Prix white with silver-white manhole cover rims - Interior in light gray leather - Vehicle was imported from the USA to Germany in 2015. Great convertible in excellent condition! After 16 years of production, the extremely popular G-model of the Porsche 911 was ready for a thorough overhaul in 1989. The successor, internally known as the 964, shared no more than 15% of the parts it replaced. The distinctive design was retained, but the 964 introduced a cornucopia of technical innovations: for the first time, all-wheel drive was available in a 911, derived from the technology flagship Porsche 959, as well as the automatic transmission known as Tiptronic. Power steering, airbags, and ABS also found their way into the 911. The chassis was thoroughly redesigned and now featured coil springs and shock absorbers instead of torsion bars. The most striking external features were the large, integrated bumpers and the electric spoiler, which automatically retracted or extended depending on the speed. The rear still featured the air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine – now with dual ignition – which usually had a 3.6-liter displacement, but there were also 3.3- and 3.75-liter versions, as well as turbocharged engines. The 964 was the last 911 to be offered as a traditional Targa with a removable roof. This vehicle is a classic car that is many years old and shows some noticeable signs of use and wear. Furthermore, it may have undergone more or less professional restoration, modification, and paintwork, and may have a number of cosmetic and technical defects. __________________________________________________ PLEASE NOTE: For this vehicle, the surcharge totals 10% of the hammer price. Very nice 911 Carrera 2 Convertible with matching numbers - 250hp from a 3.6 liter boxer engine with 5-speed manual gearbox - Original Porsche radio with CD - Power windows, mirrors and seats, trip computer, cruise control, power hood - Air conditioning and tinted windows - Power retractable rear spoiler - Grand Prix white exterior paintwork and silver white rims - Light gray leather interior - Vehicle was imported from the USA to Germany in 2015 Great convertible in a very fair condition! After 16 years of production, the highly popular G model of the Porsche 911 was due to a thorough makeover in 1989. The successor, which bore the internal code 964, is said to have shared no more than 15% of its parts with model it replaced. While retaining the characteristic basic design, the 964 brought a cornucopia of technical innovations. For the first time in a 911, all wheel drive, derived from the technology carrier Porsche 959, and the Tiptronic automatic gearshift became available. Power steering, airbags as well as ABS brakes likewise found their way into the 911. The suspension was revised substantially, it now featured coil springs and shock absorbers instead of torsion bars. From the outside, the most noticeable change lay in the large, integrated bumpers, as well as in the electric rear spoiler which was raised and lowered according to the traveling speed. In the rear, there was still the air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine - now with twin-spark - which most commonly had 3.6 liters of displacement, although 3.3 and 3.75 liter variants were available, as well as turbo engines. The 964 was the last 911 model which was offered as a traditional Targa with the removable roof. This vehicle is a vintage model, which is many years old, with some obvious traces of use and wear. In addition, some restorative, refurbishment and painting work may have been carried out more or less professionally and there may be a large number of optical and technical defects.
