The Pilbeam MP91 Sports Racer is one of three race cars built for use in the European Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series, and for participation in Le Mans. It is the only MP91 to compete in Le Mans in 2003. - It features a 3.4-liter 120° V6 engine with approximately 500 hp and a Hewland NMT transmission. - Racing participation with driver Jeff Bucknum: 2002 ALMS at Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, Daytona, and Sebring. In 2003, after the MP84 was converted to the MP91, it was raced at Le Mans, Road Atlanta and Sonoma, Mosport, and Miami. 2004: Sebring 12 Hours, Lime Rock, Sonoma, Portland. This was followed by sporadic appearances in various sports car races. 2017: Win of the "Group C Classic" Championship – last overhaul approximately 12 hours ago – DMSB car passport, Le Mans homologation, parts book, gearbox manual, and much more documented – eight dry tires on rims (four of which are new), one set of rain tires on rims, clutch assembly tool. After a successful career in Formula 1 with the BRM, Lotus, and Surtees teams, Mike Pilbeam founded Pilbeam Racing Designs in 1975. The Lincolnshire-based company quickly established itself as a leading manufacturer of hillclimb and sports racing cars. An exciting new chapter in the company's 35-year history began when the MP84 sports racing car made its competitive debut in May 1999 at the third round of the International Sports Racing Series (ISRS) at Spa-Francorchamps. This state-of-the-art SR2/LMP2 class sports car marked the marque's return to mainstream racing. The MP84-02, the first production car completed just two days before the event, won the fifth round of the ISRS at Donington, England, on July 18, 1999. Since then, the MP84 won its class in the Sports Racing World Cup series in 2000. In 2001, the European Le Mans Series (now the Le Mans Endurance Series) began, and Pilbeam has enjoyed many years of success with the MP84 and its successors, the MP91 and MP93. With five participations in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans to date, Pilbeam has established itself as a leading manufacturer. This vehicle is a classic car that is many years old and shows some noticeable signs of use and wear.
