The 4th generation of the MG T-Type was introduced in 1949. The TD was by far the most successful of all, with 29,664 vehicles built in four years, the vast majority of which were exported to the USA. Compared to its predecessor, it represented a major technical advance, using the chassis of the Y-Type saloon, which featured independent coil spring suspension. The proven drivetrain of the TC and the bodywork characteristic of the T-Type were built on this. The result was a car that was both traditional and contemporary. It was also somewhat larger, and the 1250 cc OHC 4-cylinder inline engine now produced 40 kW (54 hp). Due to the popularity of this car, numerous replicas were built after production of the original T-Series ended in 1955.
This vehicle is a classic car that is many years old and may show significant signs of use and wear. Furthermore, it may have undergone more or less professional restoration, modification, and paintwork, and may have a number of cosmetic and technical defects.
