Vispārīga informācija
PLEASE NOTE: The premium for this vehicle is 5% of the hammer price. Two-seater Marcadier-Fournier Barquette - The first French car to be sold as a kit; approximately 60 were produced. Painted in a girlie pink, the racing car was driven by female drivers and was intended to raise awareness of the breast cancer awareness campaign of the time. Powered by a 1.1 L Renault 8 Gordini inline four-cylinder gasoline engine with 52 kW (70 hp). Odometer reading: 17,162 km. Fiberglass body, overall length 2.27 m, and vehicle weight 460 kg. Imported from Belgium in 2010. The French racing scene has traditionally been characterized by remarkable diversity. Especially in the 1960s and 1970s, there were many small companies in our western neighbor that built and sold racing cars. They made their living in national formula classes such as Formule France, founded in 1968, or in the always strong French sports car and hillclimb racing scene. A typical representative of this era is Fournier et Marodier from Mions near Lyon. Marcel Fournier and André Marcadier founded a car workshop in 1963 and began producing a small, open-top sports car. The FM Barquette was powered by a four-cylinder engine derived from the Renault 8 and the Renault 8 Gordini, respectively. From 1970 onwards, André Marcadier ran the company alone. Fournier et Marcadier became Automobiles Marcadier. The Barzoi Coupé model with gullwing doors remained in the range. In addition, there was a new sports car, the Marcadier Can-Am Barquette. The supporting element of the small racing car (length: 3.60 meters, width: 1.56 meters) was a tubular steel frame. This was supported by a polyester body. A clever design with a plastic body, optimal use of production technology, and low weight. The resulting vehicles were capable of conquering the racetrack even without much power on board, and at a price affordable for amateurs. Marcadier also offered this race car as a kit. Customers could choose between a chassis solution with wishbones or the front axle of the Renault 8. Various engines ranging from 1.1 to 1.8 liters were used. Most Marcadier Can-Am Barquettes feature Renault engines and transmissions. This vehicle is a classic car that is many years old and shows some noticeable signs of use and wear. Furthermore, it may have undergone more or less professional restoration, modification, and paintwork, and may have a number of cosmetic and technical defects. __________________________________________________ PLEASE NOTE: For this vehicle, the surcharge totals 10% of the hammer price.
